PARB
is established by Oklahoma Statue (10 O.S. 1116.2). Statute requires that at
least one PARB is in operation in each of the State's twenty-six judicial districts.
A
PARB is comprised of at least five volunteers from the community. Each local
PARB is charged with reviewing court cases involving children who have been
abused and neglected (Deprived). In some locations, PARB also reviews court
cases involving children invovled in the juvenile justice system (Delinquent).
PARB serves in an advisory capacity to the local judge. The PARB develops a
written recommendation in each case.
